Did you know that today is Global Safer Internet Day (SID)? This year’s theme is “Together for a better internet” with the purpose of making the internet a safer and better place for all, especially for children and young people.
The Film and Publication Board is a committee formed in South Africa, with the purpose of supporting SID. Their aim for today is to collaborate with their stakeholders in child protection and the cyber safety space.
The FPB has the responsibility to protect children from exposure to harmful content, thus the organisation needs to play a leading role in creating awareness around the dangers of the internet, as much as it is incumbent on the organisation to use the digital space as an empowerment tool.
